This fund was established by long time Bristol residents John and Susan Scarritt in December 2004 to honor the memory of John’s parents, David and Edith Scarritt. Dave and Edith Scarritt were lifelong Bristol residents and owners of the Scarritt Lumber Company. Proceeds from the fund will be used primarily to support the work of the Main Street Community Foundation.

This fund was established by the friends and family of Dave Lepore to honor his life, work and community commitment after Dave’s passing in 2003. The scholarship will support a Bristol resident who wishes to pursue a career in journalism.
This scholarship fund was established in 2018 to honor the memory of Dave Mongillo, a lifelong Southington resident and member of the Southington Weed Wackers Golf League. Dave was often referred to as the King of Concrete, dedicating most of his life to his own foundation business. He was highly regarded in the industry as a master craftsman know for his work ethic, quality and attention to detail. The scholarship is available to a graduating high school senior from Southington High School who is a current student athlete; preference will be given to those who are on the golf team.

This scholarship fund was established by David “Dave” Bourassa’s family to honor his memory and impact on the many people he knew and loved with his kind and fun-loving spirit. Dave was a master electrician for over 35 years. He was known for his infectious smile and strong work ethic, all while admirably battling schizoaffective disorder for many, many years. He was brave, kind, patient, and gentle. His family has started a movement to "Be Like Dave." Dave was one of the kindest people you could meet. He loved his family and desserts, especially cookies, and that was pretty much Dave. If everyone could be a little more like Dave, the world would be a whole lot kinder. More kindness and more cookies. Scholarships will be awarded annually to residents of Bristol, CT who are graduating seniors or currently enrolled students pursuing post-secondary education or career training, with a preference for students looking to pursue an education and/or career in the mental health field.

This fund was established in 2015 in memory of Donna Borysewicz by her family and friends upon her passing after a courageous fight with chronic illness. In remembrance of her passion and love for helping others, especially women and children, distributions from the fund will support those initiatives identified by the Women & Girls Immediate Response Fund.
This fund was established in 1961 through a bequest from Dora Schubert and was transferred to Main Street Community Foundation in 2017. Dora’s desire was to establish a named scholarship to defray the expenses of education for deserving students. She was a longtime Plymouth resident and member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church of Terryville. A scholarship will be awarded annually to a graduating senior of Terryville High School with a preference to children of members of the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church of Terryville.
Dorothy Dewey Picard was a graduate of The Julliard School and was a well-known area music instructor for 64 years. In addition, she played in many area orchestras and was a founding member of the Bristol Symphony Orchestra. Upon her death in 1999, her daughter, Marcia White, established this scholarship to honor her mother’s lifelong love of music.
Established in 1998 by area residents and business owners Doug and Noreen Schumann, this fund supports community programs focused on building self-esteem, confidence and strong values in young people.
This fund was established in 2009 with a gift from Ralph and Linda Roland in memory of their late son. This scholarship provides financial assistance to applicants entering a career training program that does not exceed two years and provides the step up needed to gain employment.
This fund was established in 2014 to recognize and promote excellence in all areas of the English language arts by Dr. Wallace, the first coordinator of English Language Arts in Southington Public Schools. A scholarship will be awarded annually to the graduating senior at Southington High School with the highest GPA in English/Language Arts who is pursuing post-secondary education at a college or university.
This fund was established in 2000 by local businessman Roland Dumont to support charitable causes in the area served by the Foundation, with special emphasis on programs that give opportunities to disadvantaged youth.
Friends and admirers of Mr. Barnes created this fund in 1980 to honor him for his lifetime achievements in the field of journalism. Mr. Barnes added substantially to this fund once it was transferred to the Main Street Community Foundation in 1997. The award is available to students from Bristol, Burlington or Plymouth with interest in pursuing a career in journalism, media-related communications, creative writing and/or related studies. E. Bartlett Barnes passed away in February 2004.
Early Learning - A PET Project Fund, a designated fund, was established in 2018 by Mary-Alice Petrucelli-Timek to honor the memory of her brother, John R. Petrucelli. Grants will be made to Bristol Child Development Center (formerly known as Bristol Preschool Child Care Center, Inc.) of Bristol, CT and Imagine Nation, A Museum Early Learning Center of Bristol, CT for the organizations’ general operating uses and program support purposes.

Local industrialist Edward Ingraham was a long-time supporter of the Boys Club of Bristol serving as its President twenty-two years. He was instrumental in establishing the former Camp Wangum, a popular camp for boys as well as the Forestville Boys’ Club. Established in 2011, this fund honors the memory of Edward Ingraham and will provide support to the Boys & Girls Club of Bristol Family Center for summer camp expenses or to provide a summer camp experience for the youth of Bristol.
