Women & Girls’ Fund Hosts Blood Drive in Bristol to Honor 2019 WOW Event Guest Speaker
On Thursday, April 11 the Women & Girls’ Fund of the Main Street Community Foundation will be hosting a Blood Drive in honor of this year’s Wonder of Women (WOW) Event guest speaker, Colleen Kelly Alexander. Colleen is a lifelong athlete and motivational speaker who inspires positive change, contribution, determination and actionable gratitude. With her indomitable spirit and incredible story of survival, Colleen teaches others how to aim higher, be stronger and use adversity as a catalyst to make the world a better, brighter place. In 2011, after a tragic accident, Colleen needed 78 units of blood to help her survive. In order to help Colleen bring recognition and gratitude to all who gave blood to help save her life, the Women & Girls’ Fund was inspired to host a blood drive in her honor.
The Women & Girls’ Fund invites you to join us to donate blood on April 11 at St. Joseph Church Hall located at 33 Queen Street from 11:15 am to 4:15 pm. “Colleen is the true embodiment of what it means to embrace the miraculous power of body, mind, spirit, and the phenomenal potential every human being has to make a positive impact. We felt honoring her with this blood drive would be a way for us to give back to the community while helping Colleen continue to honor the many people who gave their blood to help save her life,” stated Jeanine Audette, Co-Chair of the 2019 WOW Event.
