At the 2024 Wonder of Women WOW event, we encourage attendees to PASS the PURSE around the table and donate what you can to help senior women in Bristol, Burlington, Plainville, Plymouth, Southington and Wolcott obtain the personal care items they need but can’t often afford. Roughly 1 in 3 older adults aged 65+ are economically insecure, and senior women are more likely to live in poverty than men. SNAP dollars can’t be used for personal care items and therefore many women simply go without because these products can be expensive. The top requests by senior women in your local communities are: disposable washcloths; denture adhesive; incontinence products; shampoo & body wash; and deodorant.

All money raised will be donated to organizations in the six communities we serve for purchase of personal care items.
