Scholarship Established in Memory of Plainville Swim Coach

Main Street Community Foundation is honored to announce the establishment of the Coach Randy Doucette Scholarship Fund by his family and welcome students to apply. “Coach,” as he was affectionately known, was a highly accomplished educator and swim coach at Plainville High School (PHS); he earned the CIAC Connecticut Boys Swimming Coach of the Year in 2009, and was later inducted into the Plainville High School Sports Hall of Fame in 2015. He graduated from PHS in 1966, and was also a physical education teacher for 37 years at PHS, challenging his students and athletes to always “work hard and keep your head in the game” in every aspect of life.

These scholarships will be awarded annually to residents of Plainville who are graduating seniors of Plainville High School and current members in good standing of the PHS Swim Team. The deadline to apply for the inaugural scholarship is March 8.
