A Million Reasons to Celebrate: Women & Girls Fund at MSCF’s 25th Anniversary
Twenty-five years ago, before there was a bake sale. . . before there was a ballroom. . . before there were keynote speakers. . .
A group of women pledged support – both their time and money to build something permanent. The promise was to build the Women & Girls Fund endowment to ensure there would always be funds available to meet the needs of local women and girls. The Women & Girls Fund at Main Street Community Foundation was officially established in 2001 with the following mission: to make it possible for women and girls to improve the quality of their lives by funding programs and organizations; empowering and celebrating women; and increasing awareness of the needs that exist for women and girls and the opportunities available.
The Women & Girls Fund has helped thousands of individuals by awarding over $921,000 in grants to nonprofit organizations. Thank you to all of the generous supporters throughout the years, and cheers to many more!
