Brenda J. Tella is a lifelong Plainville resident who values faith, family and community. After graduating from Plainville Public Schools, she attended the University of Connecticut and became a licensed insurance agent, advancing through various positions before retiring. A changemaker and leader, Brenda has always been actively involved in the community; she was the first female president of the Plainville Lions Club and is an engaged member of the Plainville Senior Center. Holding a special place in her heart is Our Lady of Mercy Church (OLMC) in Plainville. Brenda is a proud member of the parish and she believes in the quality of education provided through Catholic schools. Scholarships will be awarded to students from families who are parishioners in good standing at OLMC to assist with the costs of Catholic education at an elementary, middle or high school located in CT. If there are no applicants from OLMC, applications may be considered from students who reside in Plainville, CT and wish to attend a Catholic elementary, middle or high school located in CT.
