Mission and History
The Plainville Community Fund was established at Main Street Community Foundation as a community endowment in 2006 by a group of community leaders in Plainville that came together with a common but simple goal: to enhance the quality of life for Plainville residents. This Fund creates a permanent resource for charitable programs and projects that benefit the town. Every dollar donated to the Fund and every dollar granted through the Fund benefits local nonprofits that help the residents of Plainville and raises the town’s quality of life.
Grant Distribution
Since 2006, the Plainville Community Fund has awarded over $160,000 in grants to support organizations and individuals in Plainville.
The annual grant cycle for the Plainville Community Fund is conducted during the first quarter of each year, and all information can be found on the Apply for a Grant page. If you have any questions, please contact us.

Advisory Council and Committees
The Plainville Community Fund is led by an Advisory Council that is comprised of Plainville residents from various backgrounds. The Advisory Council regularly assesses the needs in town, which inform the grantmaking.
A Distribution Committee made up of local residents reviews grant applications and makes funding recommendations on an annual basis. Distribution Committee members represent many industries and sectors and have different life experiences that they bring to the Committee.
We welcome you to bring your ideas, talents, community spirit, and your dedication to your town to improve the lives of other residents.
