Main Street Community Foundation Awards Over $14,000 to Plainville Nonprofits and Celebrates 20 Years of the Plainville Community Fund
Main Street Community Foundation (MSCF) recently awarded $14,114 in grants from the Plainville Community Fund (PCF) to nine local nonprofits that directly enhance the lives of Plainville residents.
This year, the Plainville Community Fund is celebrating its 20-year anniversary. The PCF was established as a community endowment in 2006 by a group of community leaders in Plainville. This group came together with a simple goal: to enhance the quality of life for Plainville residents. Through this Fund, a permanent resource for charitable programs and projects that benefit the town was created. Since its establishment, $175,000 has been distributed to support local nonprofits and the programs they operate.
Susan Sadecki, MSCF President and CEO says, “Every dollar donated to the Fund and every dollar granted through the Fund benefits local nonprofits that help the residents of Plainville and raises the town’s quality of life. For 20 years the Plainville Community Fund has supported positive change in the community in a variety of ways.”
