Grant Applications for Several Funds Now Available

July 15 , 2016 - The Main Street Community Foundation welcomes grant requests from organizations that serve our geographic area, which includes Bristol, Burlington, Plainville, Plymouth, Southington and Wolcott, Connecticut.

Interested organizations must review the the grant application and then contact Jarre Betts, Vice President of Programs, by emailing jarre@mainstreetfoundation.org or calling 860.583.6363 ext. 152 before applying to discuss the proposal and process.

Bradley Henry Barnes and Leila Upson Barnes Memorial Trust
Deadline to submit a Letter of Intent: September 16, 2016 at 4 p.m.
The Bradley Henry Barnes and Leila Upson Barnes Memorial Trust was transferred to the Main Street Community Foundation in 2004 and was established by the late Bradley Henry Barnes of Southington to support the healthcare needs of Southington residents. Grants will be available from the Barnes Memorial Trust to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations serving the Southington community. Requests will be accepted for capital projects, programs or initiatives that will improve the health and wellbeing of Southington residents.

Letters of Intent from interested organizations will be accepted through September 16, 2016. Organizations that are invited to submit a full proposal will be contacted by September 30, 2016. Full proposals will be due October 31, 2016.

Interested organizations are required to contact Jarre Betts, Vice President of Programs, or Alecia Andrews, Program Officer, at 860.583.6363 to discuss their submission at least 10 business days prior to the submission deadline.

Burlington Community Fund
Application Deadline: September 16, 2016 at 4 p.m.
The Burlington Community Fund was established in 2011 by a group of committed community leaders in Burlington who were interested in creating an additional resource for charitable projects and programs that would enhance the lives of Burlington residents. Grants are made to either a public institution or private tax-exempt organization engaged in charitable activities defined by Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Either the organization or the program for which funding is requested, must be located in Burlington and be of benefit to Burlington residents.

Grant applications are now available for the 2016 annual grant cycle for the Burlington Community Fund. The deadline to submit a proposal is September 16, 2016 at 4 p.m.

2016 General Grant Cycle
The 2016 annual competitive grant cycle is complete. Applications are made available annually on January 15 and are due by March 31. You may contact us to discuss applications for 2017.

Make A Mark Region 10 Enrichment Fund
Make A Mark Region 10 Enrichment Fund was established by a group of community leaders in 2009 to enhance the learning of students by providing grants for special and creative initiatives that cannot be funded on a meaningful scale through the regular school budget. Make A Mark is dedicated to sustaining and extending the excellence of the Region 10 School District by providing a source of funding for expanded educational opportunities for Region 10 students.  Grants will be distributed to teachers, administrators, guidance counselors, other school personnel, or students who propose projects that would not normally be funded by the Region 10 Board of Education budget.

Questions regarding grant cycles can be directed to the members of the Make A Mark Advisory Committee, and their names can be found on www.makeamarkr10.org.

Plainville Community Fund
Application Deadline: September 16, 2016 at 4 p.m.
The Plainville Community Fund was established in 2006 by a group of Plainville leaders to create an additional resource for charitable projects and programs that would enhance the lives of Plainville residents. Grants are made to either a public institution or private tax-exempt organization engaged in charitable activities defined by Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Either the organization or the program for which funding is requested, must be located in Plainville and be of benefit to Plainville residents.

Grant applications are now available for the 2016 fall grant cycle for the Plainville Community Fund. The deadline to submit a proposal is September 16, 2016 at 4 p.m.

Technology for Teens
Through an initiative started in 2005 by Bristol philanthropist Bob Fiondella, the Main Street Community Foundation will award several computers to area students to utilize in college. Applicants must be a current member of the Bristol Boys & Girls Club.

The 2016 deadline for the Technology for Teens grant program was March 14, 2016. Thank you to all who applied.

Women & Girls’ Fund
Application Deadline: September 30, 2016 at 4 p.m.
Grants are made from the Women & Girls’ Fund at the Foundation to organizations serving females of any age in the towns of Bristol, Burlington, Plainville, Plymouth, Southington and Wolcott.

Grant applications are now available for the 2016 annual grant cycle for the Women & Girls' Fund. The deadline to submit a proposal is September 30, 2016 at 4 p.m.

Please review the Grant Eligibility Questionnaire to ensure that you are eligible to apply for a grant. After reviewing the Questionnaire, interested organizations are required to contact Jarre Betts, Vice President of Programs, at 860.583.6363 to discuss their submission at least 7 business days prior to the submission deadline.
