This year, Main Street Community Foundation awarded $15,800 in grants from the Plainville Community Fund to local nonprofits that directly enhance the lives of Plainville residents. Since the Fund’s establishment in 2006, $160,000 in grants have been awarded from this permanent resource for charitable programs and projects.

This year’s eight recipients are:

• At Liberty Services - $1,500 awarded to support the Getting your Documents Ready program, which assists vulnerable individuals and families with personalized case management services to access benefit programs.
• Community Solutions, Inc. - $1,800 for Basic Needs for Teenage Girls at Lisa’s House.
• Imagine Nation, A Museum Early Learning Center - $1,500 awarded for the Imagine Nation Loves Plainville STEAM outreach programs.
• PARC, Inc. - $3,000 awarded to support the Adult Life Skills program for adults with developmental disabilities.
• Plainville Board of Education/Plainville Community Schools - $2,500 for the parent and child nutrition class, Nourish to Flourish.
• Plainville Community Food Pantry - $2,000 awarded to support the Intervention, Outreach, and Referral Program, which provides food and other basic needs to Plainville residents.
• The Congregational Church of Plainville (CCP) - $1,500 for the CCP Presents… concert series which features a variety of music genres and musicians and is open to the public.
• Wheeler Regional Family YMCA - $2,000 awarded to YMCA Day Camp to purchase equipment and supplies to enhance the Camp Wheeler experience.
