The Main Event 30th Anniversary Celebration – Meet Us On Main Street
In celebration of its 30th anniversary, Main Street Community Foundation (MSCF) welcomed a sold-out crowd of 380 guests to The Main Event 30th Anniversary Celebration – Meet Us On Main Street at the Aqua Turf Club on September 13, 2025. The night featured a variety of roaming entertainment, live and silent auctions, delicious food, and a memorable celebration of the history of the Foundation and its Founders. Men & Boys' Fund - MVP Breakfast
The Men & Boys' Fund hosted the fourth annual MVP Breakfast on June 3, 2025, at 8am at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Bristol. Seats were $40 per person. In addition to several grantee organizations, the guest speaker was Arda Ocal. Arda is an Emmy Award winning ESPN anchor who appears on the NHL on ESPN and SportsCenter. Previously, Arda worked for MSG Networks, WWE and various networks across Canada. Arda is an avid mentor to aspiring broadcasters in the industry and believes in paying it forward; kindness is free and actionable items are key.
Proceeds from the event support programs that improve the lives of men and boys in Bristol, Burlington, Plainville, Plymouth, Southington and Wolcott.

Women & Girls Fund - Wonder of Women (WOW)

The 25th annual Wonder of Women (WOW) event will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Women & Girls Fund! WOW will be held on April 30, 2026 at 5:30pm at the Aqua Turf Club in Southington. Seats are $75 per person. The guest speaker is Kara Wolters, an Olympic Gold Medalist, UConn National Champion and WNBA Champion as well as a nationally-recognized broadcaster and entrepreneur. She is a former elite basketball player who went on to become one of only nine players in the world to have the elusive “set” NCAA National Championship (UConn 1995), WNBA Championship (Houston 1999), and an Olympic Gold Medal (Sydney 2000). Kara was also inducted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame (2017). After her playing days, she began her broadcasting career with the YES Network color commentating college basketball games before working in radio for six years as a color analyst for UConn Women's Basketball games on WTIC 1080. She then transitioned to TV where she has dedicated 13 years as the in-studio analyst for Sports New York (SNY) covering UConn Women’s Basketball. Kara owns and operates Dream Big Basketball, which offers camps, clinics and lessons to young athletes. She specializes in helping others realize they can achieve their goals, whether in sports or business, as long as they stick to the Three A’s: Accountability, Attitude, and Action.

Nonprofit Education
Main Street Community Foundation partners with local organizations and businesses to offer its Nonprofit Education Series. As part of this series, MSCF will offer web/audioconferences or in-person events on topics of interest to enhance the development and knowledge of nonprofit Board members, professionals and volunteers.
