Mission Statement: The Plainville Community Food Pantry, Inc. is a non-profit outreach agency that provides food, fuel, clothing, crisis intervention, and referral services to individuals in need.

The Plainville Community Food Pantry has raised the bar when it comes to social service programs and the Plainville Community Food Pantry has become the model for food pantries across the state of Connecticut for offering client choice. Our clients are encouraged to bring a shopping list and "shop" for their own groceries. This client choice format provides clients with the food they need, while allowing them to maintain their dignity and independence. In May 2005, a group of the Pantry's volunteeres won the Ellen Varnum volunteer of the year award.

As it has for the past forty years, The Plainville Community Food Pantry, Inc. continues to serve those in crisis and takes pride in the empowerment and success of its clients in the improvement of their quality of life.
