Geographic Area Served: The SAAC serves the cities and towns of Barkhamstad, Berlin, Bristol, Burlington, Colebrook, Harwinton, New Britain, New Hartford, Norfolk, Plainville, Plymouth, Souhtington, Torrington, and Winchester.

Mission Statement: To advocate efforts for the prevention and treatment of substance abuse

The Substance Abuse Action Council of Central CT. Inc. is an independent public/private partnership comprised of community leaders from the fourteen municipalities of Central Connecticut. Its purpose is to assess the needs of the region, establish, and implement an action plan to develop and coordinate services in the field of substance abuse and advocate for resources needed to accomplish such plans. The services, described as a continuum of care, include community awareness, prevention and education, intervention, treatment and aftercare. The goal is to eliminate substance abuse in Central Connecticut.
