Mission Statement: To provide young people and adults an educational experience focusing on the conservation and understanding of our natural environment throughout Connecticut and to serve as a land trust in the vicinity of Bristol, Connecticut.

ELCCT (Environmental Learning Centers of Connecticut, Inc.) is a 501 [C] [3] organization that provides environmental education programs to schools, groups, and families throughout the state of Connecticut. Since its inception in 1969, ELCCT has been a leader in broadening the horizon of its students, nurturing their understanding and appreciation of their environment. ELCCT presents educational experiences to over 44,000 participants each year through the operation of its two educational centers, Indian Rock Nature Preserve and Harry C. Barnes Memorial Nature Center.

ELCCT provides for the preservation, protection, and appreciation of natural lands within our region. ELCCT currently has over 525 acres located in five preserves. Our goal is to ensure that a sufficient amount of the unprotected natural areas become protected. By protecting additional lands, to form a network of continuous green ways, the people of our area will continue to benefit from the positive effects these lands currently have on our quality of life. These areas not only provide valuable habitat for plant and animal life, but maintain the environmental quality and esthetic values of our communities and also serve as tremendous learning laboratories for our children and as recreational opportunities for families.
